SPRINGFIELD – Lincoln Land Community College’s new student trustee was sworn into office at the May 25, 2022 meeting of the ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp Board of Trustees.
Giles Harris-Patel of Springfield, a second-year student majoring in English, will represent students on the ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp Board of Trustees through April of 2023.
Harris-Patel will serve alongside the seven elected trustees who represent residents of the college district and set policy to ensure ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp is meeting their educational needs.
His academic plans include transferring to a four-year university after graduating from ÌÀÍ·Ìõapp, and then pursuing a law degree with a career goal of international law.
He succeeds Meghan Hadden, who served as the previous year’s student trustee.
