Vehicles are becoming more and more complex with high-tech computer systems. Due to the intricacy of vehicles, qualified automotive technicians are highly valued by vehicle owners. Students can train for a successful automotive technology career at the Workforce Institute in a state-of-the-art facility with the newest automotive technology equipment.

Cost

For fall 2024, spring 2025 and summer 2025, automotive technology (AUT) classes (except AUT 210) have a tuition rate of $210 per credit hour for in-district residents. AUT 210 has a standard in-district rate of $140 per credit hour. Get more information on tuition and fees.

Students are required to have a basic set of automotive tools.  sold separately.

Partnerships

The Workforce Institute partnerships with  (Automotive Career Exploration) and  (Technician Training & Education Network) allows students access to industry leading automotive technician training. The partnership agreement with Southern Illinois University Carbondale allows students to pursue a bachelor’s degree in automotive technology.
