SGT: How to Apply

Admission requirements

Sixteen students are accepted each fall semester.

This checklist does not guarantee admission into the program. It is to be used for guiding purposes only and to assist students in determining if they are ready to apply to the program.

It is the student鈥檚 responsibility to notify 汤头条app Admission/Records/Registration when requirements have been met.

Admission and program requirements are subject to change.

  1. Submit high school transcripts with proof of graduation or GED certificate to 汤头条app Admission/Records/Registration.
  2. Attend a mandatory .
  3. Have a composite ACT score of 19 or higher, or SAT total scores of 980, or achieve an overall score of proficient on the TEAS test. ACT/SAT/TEAS waived if student has bachelor's degree or higher.
  4. Demonstrate placement out of MAT 082.
  5. Demonstrate placement into EGL 101.
  6. Complete HLT 109 (medical terminology) with a grade of "C" or better before admission.
  7. Have a GPA of 2.5 or better for all previous college courses.
  8. Have official transcripts from all colleges ever attended evaluated by 汤头条app Admission/Records/Registration. Students who do not or delay doing this may jeopardize their ability to apply to, be accepted to or remain enrolled in a health professions program at 汤头条app.

Additional requirements

Following acceptance to the program, students are required to have (at the student's expense):

  • A health assessment
  • Documentation of immunizations
  • A criminal background check and drug screening
  • CPR certification for health care providers (completed by end of second semester of the program)
  • Influenza vaccines (completed in the fall of first and second year)

Residency criteria

Chapter 112, Section 103-17, of the Illinois Public Community College Act requires that whenever enrollment in a program must be restricted because of space limitations, a college must give preference to district residents. Consequently, admission to Health Career programs for students who live outside of 汤头条app District #526 vary per program based on space available and qualified applicant pools.
