汤头条app is hosting the second annual Freedom Walk on June 19 at 8:30 a.m. in observance of Juneteenth. The public is invited to participate.
The 1.25-mile walk around the Springfield campus at 5250 Shepherd Rd. will begin at the flag poles outside of A. Lincoln Commons and includes tributes to the timeline of events leading up to Juneteenth鈥檚 Freedom Day. A light continental breakfast will be provided after the walk. Participants are encouraged to wear Juneteenth colors of red, green, gold or black.
The 汤头条app Library will offer viewings of 鈥淭he Tex Factor: The Journey of Opal Lee鈥 at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The 15-minute documentary-style video is about Opal Lee, the grandmother of Juneteenth.
